$400,000 in workers’ compensation benefits and $1,000,000 in total personal injury compensation for a 58-year-old salesman who suffered leg fractures and other injuries in an automobile crash while on a sales trip in Kentucky. We pursued a personal injury claim against the other driver and settled it for $25,000, the limit of his automobile insurance coverage. We then pursued a claim under the underinsured motorist policy of the employer’s automobile insurance coverage and settled that claim for $975,000, the coverage limit. We also filed a workers’ compensation claim against the employer which was denied on the basis that our client was not covered by the employer’s workers’ compensation insurance policy. We challenged the denial in Circuit Court and obtained a ruling that it was improper. We were then able to settle the workers’ compensation claim for an additional $400,000.
$690,000 in workers’ compensation benefits and $987,500 in personal injury compensation for a 50-year-old truck driver who sustained a neck injury when his disabled truck was struck from behind on another truck on a Kentucky highway. We filed a workers’ compensation claim and after a trial obtained benefits for him in excess of $690,000. We also filed a personal injury lawsuit against the other driver and his employer and after extensive multi-state discovery, we were able to settle the claim.
$307,000 in workers’ compensation benefits and $807,500 in personal injury compensation for a 38-year-old drywall taper who suffered injuries to his right shoulder and both wrists when he tripped on debris and fell at a construction site.
$410,000 in workers’ compensation benefits and $300,000 in personal injury compensation for a 55-year-old carpenter who sustained injuries to his head and hand as a result of a call from a scaffold at a construction site.
$675,000 for a union carpenter who was unable to return to carpentry work after falling from a scaffold and fracturing his ankle.
$400,000 in accrued workers’ compensation benefits and future benefits in the amount of $927.06 for life for a 36-year-old truck driver who sustained injuries to his leg, back and head when he was crushed by a slab of concrete debris which dropped from the bed of his trailer. We filed a workers’ compensation claim, took the case to trial, and obtained a permanent total disability award which resulted in this recovery for the client.
$475,000 plus a trust fund to cover future medical costs for a 47-year-old carpenter who suffered amputations to two fingers as a result of a circular saw injury. The workers’ compensation insurance carrier refused to provide coverage for his work injury because it had canceled his employer’s policy before the accident due to non-payment of premiums. We obtained a ruling in the Circuit Court that the cancelation was invalid which led to this settlement for the client.
